Large vs. Small frame to face your fears

October 11th, 2024

Something I have been contemplating in order to make the correct decisions in life is to know that I am not making a decision based on fear but being courageous in face of fear. There is a guideline that I created that allows me to go back to the core of the decision to be made which is especially helpful for those that are logically minded and have trouble letting go.

Here are some different frames of mind or ways of thinking that will be relative to each person’s situation and is applied as an overall guideline:

Micro/Technical frame

  • Work Problems/problem solving issues
  • Day-to-day errands
  • Details in personal activities/hobbies

Personal Frame (Most of the time we are hung up on this)

  • Yourself which includes emotions, energy level, depression, motivation, goals, etc..
  • Work demands, personal issues, relationship issues
  • Insecurity, vices, addictions, cravings, beliefs, activities/hobbies

Large Frame (Breakthrough Frame)

  • Doing things for your family, making a positive impact on others
  • Be a source of fact or truth, be a mentor/role model to others, an inspiration
  • Admit your faults, there is something greater than yourself, being selfless
  • Moving towards your mission that helps benefit others

Existential Frame

  • We will all die anyways, no point in holding back
  • There’s no point to our existence, we might as well make an impact or choose to have no impact
  • Be the biggest and brightest start that you can be, if you choose, that is what life wants us to be.

Hope this helps on your future decision making!
